hoegarden:
last week i went to see Chris’ band hoegarden. this is the second time i’ve seen them, and they’ve been pretty good each time. this time they played at the red cherry lounge or something like that, and the soundsystem was pretty jacked. the show itself was a lot of fun though despite any sound issues. they’ve definitely got some fun catchy songs.
christmas lights:
every year, the mercury news puts together a page of all the houses in the south bay that have the most impressive christmas decorations. on saturday night, caryn and i drove around trying to check out some of these houses. dude, some people seriously go all out when decorating for christmas. we went to this one place that had so much crazy shit going on! besides just having christmas lights everywhere, they had tons of figurines in their yard doing various things including an alien ufo, penguins, a santa on a surfboard, trains that drove around, reindeer and god knows what else. we were so impressed. and on top of all of this, they were handing out fresh baked cookies, cocoa, and hot cider. dayum!
sticky:
then, later saturday night, we went to that party “Sticky”. this was the first time i’ve gone to a rave in forever. i ended up having a really good time though. hella people came to this party who i haven’t seen at a party (or anywhere else) in years. it was fun to see all the familiar faces. the party had an open bar all night too, which was definitely cool.
survivor:
sunday night i wasn’t able to watch the survivor finale. i had been watching the show all season long, every damn episode, and now i couldnt get to see who won!! how annoying. luckily, it turned out that marcel recorded the show on tivo, so later sunday night we went over to his house to watch. it was a pretty crazy finale, and then when it go to the end and everyone was casting their votes for the final winner… the tivo thing indicated that it stopped recording there. FUCK!! all that for nothing! i can’t believe we watched the whole thing only to miss the last 5 crucial minutes!! arrrggghh!!

Haha! That’s so funny that it cut off the last five minutes of the last episode. I mean it sucks, but it’s funny in an ironic way if ya know what I mean. 🙂
Was the place you went to that had cookies and cider in Monte Sereno? If it was, I read an article in the Mercury news that said this was the last year they were gonna do it because the neighbors across the street got a city ordinance passed or something. I guess they say the traffic is too much to deal with.
Yes, that one was in Monte Sereno. Gawd, what a bunch of Scrooges! There are so many other angry responses I want to give that I am at a loss for words. Ugh.
Here is a link to the story. As much as it sucks, I do feel for the neighbors. The neighbor wouldn’t mind if they were only up for 3 days, but I doubt the guy would put the lights up for 3 days only.

yeah totally. if it had happened to someone else, i would have thought it was the most hillarious thing ever! but since it happened to me, it became a little less funny. 😉

i *sorta* feel for the neighbors… but at the same time.. dude, this display is soooo dope!! it’s amazing that someone would go through all that effort to make this cool thing for no profit just to make people happy and donate money to needy children. the neighbor needs to just chill out… esp if the guy agreed that he would place barricades infront of people’s lawns, and control traffic!

Yeah, because he is trying to help needy children, and he is willing to do whatever he can to ease traffic, the neighbors are being punk asses. It definitly sucks for them, but its not like the guy is doing it just so he can say he has the biggest light display.
