registration saga continues…

i posted the other day about getting pulled over for not having my car registered and that a cop told me that legally they have the right to tow my car if they see it parked anywhere. well, today that happened. i went to get my car and it was gone. towed. FUCK. that makes 4 times in the last year. *sigh*. i guess the cops are going way out of their way these days to fulfill their quota of parking tickets and other fines since the department’s budget is really low.

so, once again (after kicking it at the dmv for about an hour) i get to go down to the Hall of Justice. Calling it the hall of justice just sounds so ridiculous…. it makes me expect superman or aquaman to be hanging out there or something. ugh.

liv got married

my friend liv got married over the weekend. her actual wedding was super small and hardly anyone was invited, but she had a big party to celebrate on saturday. of course, liv can’t do anything conventionally, so everyone that went was supposed to dress as a fairy. i had no clue what a guy would need to wear if he was going she expected from guys was something simple like a green shimmery shirt. of course, i don’t have a shirt like that, but luckily i was able to borrow one from patrick… and then spent the whole evening having people make jokes about the shirt i was wearing. but other than that, the night was hella fun. it was cool to see everyone dressed up, and to hang out with a lot of peeps who i havent really hung out w/ much in a while.

trent pooped on our landlord

last week our landlord came by to tell us that they were going to do work on the pipes coming out of our house and so they needed to shut the water off. unfortunately they weren’t able to do whatever work they needed to do, so they had to postpone this till the following week. well, this week when they came by, they rang our doorbell many many times but no one answered so they assumed nobody was home. well, that wasn’t the case, and when they had taken apart the pipes, i guess trent used the toilet upstairs and our landlord got drenched with…. ummmm… stuff. heh.

just a little behind…..

i’m a *tiny* bit behind on paying my car registration. ok, maybe it’s not exactly a tiny bit. kind of more like six and a half months. i keep meaning to pay it… but unfortunately it hasn’t happened yet. today i was driving on the freeway and noticed this cop following me for a while. crap. luckily, for once, i am driving well below the posted speed limit. as the cop keeps following me, a car proceeds to miss its exit, and does this totally illegal maneuver to cut over to the exit. at this point the cops lights turn on… but instead of pulling over the driver who cut me off and was driving totally recklessly, the cop pulls me over to give out a ticket for registration. *sigh*. also, it turns out that legally they are allowed to tow my car away after my registration has been expired for 6 months. “i wouldn’t park your car on any public streets if i was you. you might come back and find your car to be missing” doh!

burnin’ down the house

a little late to be writing this, but i’m gonna post about friday night anyways. the night started off w/ going to Blowfish Sushi w/ caryn to celebrate her birthday. now i’ve been to that place once before and remember it being pretty good, but on friday night, the food was fucking incredible. everything we ordered was the bomb. awesome mojitos, delicious sushi, and this super good ostrich appetizer. now, i haven’t eaten any red meat whatsoever in a long long time (it’ll be 2 years in july), and i *totally* crave it. i practically start drooling every time i see a steak commercial on tv. so eating this ostrich, which tastes pretty damn close to red meat, was sooooooooo good!!!

after dinner we went to check out yan’s house party. it had a “circus sideshow” theme to it and people were supposed to dress up. i totally have a love/hate thing w/ costume parties. i hate dressing up, but i love to watch other people dress up. and also, at parties where everyone dresses up, it always seems like people just get way more wild. so anyways, i did the absolute bare minimum to dress up by wearing a dorky blue hat that cost me 7 bux at a costume shop, caryn brought her old-school harmony crayon costume, and we were on our way.

the party ended up being hella fun. a lot of the people were dressed up and the place was decorated pretty funny w/ powerpuff girl dolls on these fake trapeze things etc. there was one girl who was going to do a fire eating performance. right in the middle of her act, someone accidentally kicked over the fuel and next thing we know, a *huge* section of the room just goes up in flames! it was so crazy!!

yes, that picture was taken *inside* the house. people were scrambling everywhere trying to put out the fire w/ towels etc. the whole room had just lit up. so, it didn’t take them all that long to put the fire out, and i dont think anything in the house really got burnt, it was only the fuel…. but it was still pretty damn exciting!

mail

for some reason i just can’t be fuct to open my mail. none of it. i think it’s been like a month since i opened any mail that’s come in. the ominous pile of envelopes keeps growing and growing. an ever increasing pile of bills, parking tickets, credit card offers, and other assorted junk. every once in a while i actually consider trying to dig through the stack and perhaps even read some of it… but then i always just decide against it.

outta control

saturday night i went to go see “Incredibly Strange Wrestling” again. Last time i went w/ just sharon and although we had a great time, we were pretty sober and just kinda chilled and watched the show for most of the time. this time we had a larger group (caryn, erica, kevin, yan, and 2 of yan’s friends) and we got *hellza* drunk. basically, none of us even spent more than 5 minutes this time watching any wrestling. pretty much the whole night was spent running around like crazy in the building, chasing each other, and throwing tortillas at each other. it was totally nuts! ya know how sometimes you can get drunk in just the perfect way, where you still have tons of energy, are in the best damn mood, and absolutely everything is just completely hilarious? well, this was totally one of those nights. just being complete freaks…

we also spent part of our time at a bar down the street. we ran into this wacky french guy who was came to the bar actually wearing a cape. i’m not really sure how this happened, but yan’s friend ended up convincing this guy to give her his pants, and the dude spent the rest of the night walking around the bar wearing boxers! (and no, the poor guy never got his pants back). somehow, in all the drunkedness, i ended up snapping away 115 photos, kevin ended up throwing coasters all over till he got yelled at by the bartender, and caryn got some capoera lessons.

Thought Gang

random quote i liked from the book i’m reading:

“There comes a stage with knowledge, like a city, where it becomes unmanageable, where it boils over… Word overflow. Shelves of neglected books pleading for readers. Shelves, shelves, and shelves. The forests are hiding in the buildings.” -Tibor Fischer
