hate mail

it can sometimes be a pain to find parking at my work since there are a ton of people who park in the parking garage. one day i was looking for spots when i saw this mini parking spot at the end of a row of spaces. ok, maybe it wasn’t technically really a spot, but it was almost as wide as a spot, and my car *mostly* fit into it. after parking i looked at my parking job, my right side was sticking out about 3/4 of a foot into the diagonally stripey zone next to where i parked. not too bad. so i went off to work. after work, when i went to go drive home, i found the following note on my windshield:

dude, wtf?!?! what the hell is the problem with some people? ok, i’d understand if i had parked in a handicap spot, or parked across a sidewalk, or blocked a doorway or something… but no, i had just infringed a stripey spot by a few inches. is that really reason for someone to get so pissed off that they need to threaten to vandalize my car?? i swear, some people really need to relax and mind their own damn business.

  1. I still want to see a picture of the spot and the parking job. Keying your car would be outrageous, but I still have to wonder if you were causing someone else difficulty that you just didn’t think of. It’s a common symptom displayed by those with “They can Walk Around Me” syndrome.

  2. so, the funny part is that this stripey zone leads to a doorway. the doorway is *narrower* than the stripey zone. so, anyone who would be walking in the stripey zone, would be limited to walking in the middle of the zone anyway, if they came in or out of the doorway. there is really no reason for someone to be walking within 8 inches of the edge of the zone.

  3. I would email that to the company intranet. (this is assuming that the parking lot serves your company alone)

  4. no, there are multiple companies. but regardless, the last thing i would want to do is piss off these people.. they really could very well key my car.

  5. Hey Vlad

Check to see if there is a car in that space more than once or if the car beside where you parked often has the same car in it. Bet one of them will be who left you the note.

You’re right, there are too many angry people in this world, and for what? There are so many more important things in life to be concerned about. If anger about a damn car space is sooo important to this person, can you imagine what their life is like? Pretty lame, and very mean.

  6. I say, Park There Again

Think about it – as one who HAS keyed other people’s cars, believe me – we don’t leave notes before hand – If they were going to key your car, they would have done it already.

Park your car there with a conspicuously placed note – “If you key my car, I’m going to take a baseball bat to your knees – I am one crazy Motherfucker – Bring it on, Biyatch”
