i went to this asian market today to buy some fresh fish. this place was pretty crazy. they had *huge* fish tanks with enormous fish swimming around. some of these fish were over 2 feet long! the whole place totally stunk of seafood. of course, i was prepared to see all the different types of fish, crabs, shrimp etc etc… but what i totally didnt expect was turtles. yeah, turtles for sale, only 5 bux each.
the turtles in that photo are alive by the way. still struggling about and climbing all over each other. it was a realy sad site. it’s so weird to think of people eating a turtle, especially i’ve known a bunch of people who have kept them as pets. i guess it’s just a cultural thing and realy… what’s to say that eating a lobster is fine but a turtle isn’t? it’s trippy how ingrained our cultural perspectives are. i keep wondering, would i ever eat dog? all sort of cultures out there do, and i keep wondering what i would do if i was offered some. maybe i’d try a bite just to see what it’s like. and the other question is, do different breeds of dogs taste different? how does a poodle taste compared to a german shepherd?
one of the turtles was able to escape the cardboard prison that he was in. unfortunately, he wasn’t smart enough to know that he was in just as much danger sitting next to the box as he was in when he was still inside. poor little guy…

Alright, so I know this sounds horribly wrong, but I want to taste dog. I guess I don’t see the big difference between dog and cow - probably because I never owned a dog, but I’d like to try it. And, I, too, have wondered if different dogs taste differently. I bet they do. After all, different kinds of fish taste differently.

yeah, they are living creatures. but so are cows, yes? and chickens and every other animal you would eat. i dunno.. i think it would be difficult to actually eat a dog. maybe i wouldnt bring myself to do it. but in a lot of way.. how is it really any different than eating any other animal?

well, actually, cows *do* wear collars. does that make a difference? like i said, i have nothing agianst dogs. they’re great. but so are other animals. cows are great too. and pigs. some people even own pigs as pets. so why is it that eating dogs is so taboo? how is it really any different than anything else? if you’re gonna be a vegetarian, then yeah, that’s one thing, but if you do eat animals.. why limit yourself to only certain kinds? maybe dogs taste great?

Yeah o.k. I’m not a vegetarian, but I am a huge animal lover and I will not stand to see a poor defenceless dog be turned into sausage. Yes people do buy pigs as pets to keep in a fenced area but a week later the owners don’t say she’s a bit too noisy for my liking so who’s up for some of Sallys Bacon!And now onto cows well I don’t know any cows that wear collars, that’s because they are always turned into burgers by the time I get to see them! Why do you think people have animal shelters, lets think about that one for a second?…… TO HELP THE POOR DOGS!

Oh, that is so sad, people actually do eat dogs. I just saw a website on people roasting dogs and eating them like there was nothing else to eat. People actually do eat dogs like a delacasy and it made me so sick I am going to become a vegetarian if I can, and if I can’t I know that it grossed me out enough I’m never going to eat meat for atleast couple of months.So I’m sorry we got in such a fight cause your right.

dude, whats so sad about it? i really just cant see your point at all. i mean, you yourself eat meat!! you said you can probably only stop eating meat for a couple months. if you so strongly believe that eating animals is wrong, then stop eating meat. but if you cant even do it yourself, then everything you’re saying is totally hypocritical. either eating animals is wrong, or it isnt. there’s no reason to get all indignant because some people eat dogs instead of whatever animal you prefer.

terry, please get a grip. people have been eating dogs for probably just as long as cows. if an animal has meat, then i’m sure at some point in history or another, humans have eaten it. you ask why. well, it’s because they’re hungry, terry. not every country is full of huge grocery stores like where you are from. in some places people still have to hunt for food. and if people are hungry, they will eat what they can get… whether it’s cows or dogs. i know you may find this hard to believe, since you’ve proabbly never left your home town, and have never know that other cultures out there live by different ways, but dogs are not pets in all countries. just cause you see them as a pet, doesnt mean everyone else does. what about fish? lots of people have fish for pets, dont they? and yet, people eat fish everyday. are they sick freaks? have you eaten fish? are you just maybe a sick freak yourself? admit it terry, your little tantrum is totally irrational. if you really care so much about animal’s lives, go for it.. become a vegetarian for the rest of your life. c’mon, i dare you. but you wont, will you terry? you like your hamburgers a bit too much, i think. who cares how many cows have to die, terry wants a nice little dinner. well, terry, enjoy your dinner, and next time, while you’re eating it, think how it might be if that steak you’re eating was made out of dog. yum!!

I’m just saying my opinion about animals you are getting your point across that people do eat dogs and other animals I’m just saying my point of view. I am never going to eat dogs and I am always going to see them as pets and not meat.I realize that I cant change your opinion but I know that I am never going to change and except that. Terry, you need to realize that not everyone sees dogs as pets. Hopefully one day you will realize how hypocritical it is to say there is nothing wrong with people who eat cows but to eat a dog you must be “f******* screwed in the head". What about horses? Many people have horses as a pet, yet horse meat is eaten regularly by people in Europe. I assume you don’t consider Europeans to be third world savages that have no high technology; however, I am not sure how technology factors into the equation.
As I put in my first post, I want to try dog. I guess because it is so taboo, and also because my friends dogs do look like they would make yummy burgers.

Tom or vlad Dog doesn’t seem that bad I just don’t like the way it looks or how I think they would make it? I do have a friend that is european she’s from europe and speeks their language but when I told her about this website and eating dogs or hores she freaked out. Hey everyone has to try different things maybe I should try hamster? or better yet try cat. Maybe stuffed hamster, or CHEF A’ LA CAT! yeah that doesn’t sound that bad? they’re all living creatures, whats the big difference. I have 2 hamsters as pets maybe I should go fry them up. People must have eaten them one time or another, right. You shouldn’t eat both of your hamsters. You should start with just one. If you like it, you should definitely eat the second one. If you have a boy and a girl hamster, you should have them mate. Then, you will have little baby hamsters to eat… I bet they would be good on a kabob, or maybe they’d make good fried finger foods.
In South Korea, they do eat dog juice. I bet it is very similar to fish sauce, which is used a lot by Vietnamese, and it is not blood; however, in many places (England, The Philippines) people do eat pig’s blood. And, there are places in Africa that drink cow’s blood.

terry, it really doesnt matter whether i have pets or not. if you really want to know, yes, i have a cat. no, i wouldnt eat my own cat, but that doesnt mean i’ll go an freak out if anyonew else out there is eating cats. eating a cat/dog is really not any difefrent than eating any other animal. and i really dont see what roadkill has to do with anyhting. if you want to eat it, sure, go ahead. i have no problem with it.

yeah, it’s definitely pretty sad. although i’m not vegetarian, i dont eat any mammals (beef, pork, lamb, etc). my main decision to do so was because i felt that it was wrong to kill anything that had emotions, thoughts, and feelings. of course, “emotions” are a debatable thing and i’m sure there are plenty of people out there who feel that birds etc have just as many thoughts/emotions as cows. but i guess i had to draw the line somewhere, and that’s where i drew it.
now that i’m going on my trip, i’m seriously debating wheteher i should cancel my no mammal rule for the year that i’m gone. that way i’d be able to try any regional delicacy that i want. but part of me thinks that i’d feel horrible if i did that. *sigh*

dude - that is so sad! they look like my old pet turtle ("turtleman")! i remember a few years back asaf and i went to china town to buy turtles and set them free - but they wouldn’t let us buy them w/o killing them first (some supposid law about that they aren’t a pet store). needless to say, we didn’t end up freeing any of them. so sad…

Ashley… let me guess. You are Terry’s friend…. maybe even the one from Romania… There are some people who have cows as pets, and if you were to ask them, they would say that the cow is a companion. i like dogs and i would never hurt one. i like dogs and cats and i would never eat one but i felt a lot different about cows and pigs i mean i dont really eat cow or pig but i mean they are diffrent like fish wouldnt really care if they were going to get fried and cows and pigs are like the same as fish but doing that to dogs and cats just seem wrong to me they seem yo me like they have like feelings.so anyone that wants to eat a dog or cat go for it but it is wrong and sick.

how do you know a fish wouldnt care if it got fried? maybe they do. animals do have feelings. on farms, when animals like cows/goats get killed, the other goats/cows freak out and start going nuts. they know when their friends are dying. they dont really want to die either.. and yet, you have no problem eating them. think about that next time you eat a hamburger. thinking about the screaming animals. enjoy!

I luv dogs. If u want to eat a dog or cat so be it. Cows and pigs are awsome, but they arnt as smart as dogs or cats. Fish pigs and cows are stupid and dont no what is going on. My dog would no. My dog knows enough that when we r gone she doesnt eat or drink cuz she nos she will have to go out to the bathroom but no 1 will be abled to take her out. she knows i could never put her through that.

actually, my og is really smart. for today as an example, we r leaving today, she saw my bag all packed up and she started to mope. Usually my dog is really hyper, and when she saw the bag she had her ears back and was laying down feeling sorry forherself. Myt dog even knows how to open a door and she is only 2 ft. tall. do u no a dog who can do that? she is not stupid. If any one is it is u thinking she is.

kristen, this is a *hypothetical* situation. lets say you cant go out and murder birds and fish. lets say you only have two options. eat dog, or die. not everyone has the luxury of having a river full of fish. some people have to eat anything they get their hands on to survive… even dog. or would you rather have the prople die than the dogs? the people have a right to live dont they? i would say that people are “man’s best friend".. not dogs.

and my dog is smart too. it knows when we r going to take him to the vet. he also know when we r going somewhere.he can open doors and even knows what the word snack means and i love and would never hurt it.

I like dogs, too; however, I would also like to see what dogs taste like. I don’t see how one can think it is okay to eat some animals but not others.
Both of your dogs are stupid. They are dogs… Dogs are stupid. They sniff each others asses, hump people’s legs, and chase cars. They are stupid.
And believe me, your dog has no idea when a holiday is near or when your family traditions are about to happen.
Kristen: look up the word hypothetical, and then answer Vlad’s question. Would you rather die than eat your dog if you had no other choice? If you choose to die, then you are even more dumb than your dumb ass dog.
Lastly, how old are you two? Something tells me that you two should be out enjoying the summer with all the other kids and not wasting your day in front of a computer. So, go play with your damn dog!!!

Listen i am 16.and if you were like 28 why are you on this. most of the people on this sight are probably my age or younger.But not everyone is as smart as others.But you can never judge someone with out meeting them.Maybe some people have spelling as their best subject and some people have it as their worst subject.But don’t judge ashley because you do not know her.It is called prejudice. I was planning on not responding to any more of these emails as I had come to realize that arguing with children is only fun for a short period of time; however, your recent post has me scratching my head…
You wonder why Vlad is on this site… THIS IS VLAD’S SITE. I am pretty sure most of the people who comment are Vlad’s friends. I am… Believe me, most of the people that comment are not 16.
I am curious, though. How did you, Kristen, find out about this site?
And, you really should not talk about judging people before you have met them. This all started because you judged me and Vlad for our willingness to try eating dog and our acceptance of people who do eat dog. I’m certain that I have not met you, yet you judged me. You have called me a sicko and a jerk.
Now, I think we should all get together, barbeque your dog and Ashley’s dog, and then be frieds.

kristen, i am not judging anyone. i’m just saying that they aren’t smart. you yourself said that, “not everyone is as smart as others,” and i think most of the people who commented on this thread just aren’t very smart. you ask “if you were like 28 why are you on this"… well, if you look up, near the top of your monitor, you’ll see that the url you are at is “thisisvlad.com". and i am vlad. i am on this site because i made it and i write all the posts. that sems like a fairly good reason to be on a site, yeah? anyways, why are *you* on this site? how did you find out about it?

what ever. I found out about this site because i was looking for a turtle for sale for my little sister. Monica.

Vlad, Tom, please… just leave these poor children alone. They can’t spell. They can’t form clear arguments. They’ve never even heard of the apostrophe. Hell, half the time they can’t even finish their sentences. They’re probably never going to leave their podunk town, with its river, its fish, and its terriers. Just give them what they really want – the last word – so they *can* go outside and enjoy the rest of their summer vacation. I know, I know… it’s fun, right? Is it fun for them, though? Really, at this point, you’re being intellectual bullies – toying with their emotions – and that’s just mean.

You are way too late to save or buy the turtles. Vlad and I ate them months ago… If you add tobasco, they taste amazing. I’d recommend them to anyone especially pet owners and members of PETA.

hey vlad its me roxy again. i think u should eat the dog if u know or dont know wut ure doin.r u smart enough 2 care 4 a living or r u not?people eat cows because they have 2.its the lifecicle.those cows r practically not real because they get fed with all these things 2 make them grow faster and so they can have a shorter lifetime.i dont think people want 2 eat the cows that r “natural".its kinda the same with chickens. do u have food in ur fridge?dogs r pets , theyre not food.u have food in ur fridge.maybe the people that ate the dogs didnt and it was the only thing 2 survival.gimme an answer saying why u want 2 eat dogs?cause from my point of view right now , it makes no sense!!!

What is the matter with you people? Yes I am a girl for your stupid information!!! Yes I have a friend from romainia, she moved here 3 years ago. Her NAME IS ROXANA!!! or roxy for short .I really don’t think she would apreciate you guys making fun of where she came from or her name,and from reading all your comments. You guys are not acting like the ages you said you were, your all acting like your 5!!!And to make it clear we are all different in the world,some people may not like to eat dogs, some may love it and some people just dont like meat!! So vlad and tom your wedsites dont really mean anything to us, but kristen and ashley if they really wanna try dog let them.yes animals are different, very different. Like dolphins for example, dolphins are very smart compared to animals like hamsters. So yes people have cowes as pets, buts its very rare.yes I love westies(west higland terriers), there my favorite kind of dog.

geff, what the hell are you going to do with all those turtles? have like 80 turtles in your yard? also, what makes you say that the chinese are stupid? shouldnt they be allowed to eat what they want? why dont you go raid a few farms and “save” all the chickens and cows. maybe you can fill up your whole house with animals.

terry, where did i write that i hate dogs? just because i said i’d like to eat a dog, doesnt mean i hate them. i eat cows, yet i dont hate them. i eat chickens and i dont hate them either. last night i tried llama for dinner, and i have nothing against llamas. i have nothing against dogs. i think they’re great. someday i hope to own one myself.
