i haven’t really updated this thing in a bit. i wish i could say that it’s cause i’ve been way too busy doing tons of exciting stuff. unfortunately, that’s not the case. instead i’ve been wasting my time away digging through music. i’ve recently found a few good sources for music recommendations and decided to download some new stuff and throw together a cd of new songs i like. being able to download stuff using soulseek is wayyy too easy…. and i got carried away. before i knew it, i ended up with nearly 8 gigs of music: 115 cd’s made up of 1,494 songs. so instead of going out and doing things like a normal person, i waste my time away listening to 30 second clips of song after song after song trying to figure out which i want to put on this cd…. a cd which i will probably end up listening to for a couple weeks and then i’ll forget about it, along w/ the other 115 cd’s i downloaded. *sigh*. in some ways i think that having music be so accessible… so easy to accumulate, makes it a little less special. instead of back in the day when you’d drop 14.99 for a cd and probably listen to that cd over and over and over… now i’ll download a cd, listen to it 2 or 3 times, and then it’s on to the next. anyway… i’ve only got 34 more cd’s to listen to. by now, so much of it is starting to sound alike. a long blur of indie crooning and guitars.
anyways, here’s what i did w/ my weekend:
friday, caryn and i finally went to go see the third Lord of the Rings. we were pretty much the last people on the planet to see the movie. i gotta say, it was really good… other than the ending which dragged on and on until caryn and i were both nervously shifting in our seats hoping to get the hell outta the theater.
saturday morning i went to breakfast w/ josh and kim and afterwards went to go see the movie “Breakfast w/ Hunter” with them and catherine. the movie was a documentary about Hunter S Thompson. it was ok. interesting in some parts, yet kinda slow and boring in others. that night, after having tash, marcel, and li over for dinner, we went to the sage francis concert. the concert was pretty cool. not as good as the show he played at bottom of the hill, but still good.
spent most of sunday morning lazying around and not doing much of anything. we found out that joey was cooking a turkey, so we went over to his house to chow down. sooo good!! turkey should definitely be eaten more often!!
